Body Shop FAQs

Do I have to go to the preferred shop recommended by my insurance company?

Not at all. You choose the body shop you want your car to be fixed in.

I have a brand new vehicle that has been involved in accident. Can it look like new again?

Yes. We employ a state of art process which enables us to accurately match your vehicle’s finish. We will not cut corners with the structure and overall fit and finish of your vehicle. Our three step quality control process insures that three different experts agree that your vehicle is repaired 100% correct. Being guided to the wrong collision center with promises of deductible saving or faster turnaround time can compromise your safety along with your vehicle’s appearance.

Do you provide a loaner vehicle?

In many situations, the insurance company will furnish a rental car. If you don’t have rental car coverage we will provide a current model year loaner vehicle at no charge while your vehicle is being repaired. (specific to certain repair circumstances). Please ask for details.

How long will it take to repair my vehicle?

Vehicle repair time is determined by the complexity of the damages. Sands Collision Center will issue you an initial promise date of completion once your vehicle is checked in. Upon full disassembly and your insurance company’s approval we will issue you a guaranteed promise date. You will receive daily updates through your preferred method of contact.

How can I pay for the repairs?

We accept insurance checks, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, personal checks, and cash. We also have finance options including 0% for 12 months (limited time offer) through GM’s Buypower card, CFS financial for average credit installment loans, and Snap Finance installment loan with no credit required. We will work with you to get your vehicle back on the road as fast as possible.

How do I know when my car will be ready?

When you schedule your repair, we will give you a tentative completion date. After that, you will be able to keep track of repair progress using our automated Repair Tracking System.

What’s the difference between OEM, aftermarket, and used parts?

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts are identical to those installed when your vehicle was new, offering the best fit and quality. Aftermarket parts are made by other companies, can be more affordable, but quality can vary. Used parts are salvaged from other vehicles and can be a cost-effective option if they are in good condition. We’ll discuss the best option for your repair with you.

Will the repair affect my vehicle’s warranty?

Generally, a proper collision repair by a certified shop like ours will not void your vehicle’s factory warranty. We use appropriate parts and follow manufacturer repair procedures to ensure your warranty remains intact. If there are any specific concerns related to your vehicle’s warranty, we’ll discuss them with you beforehand.

How do you ensure the paint color matches my car perfectly?

We use a state-of-the-art paint matching system that utilizes advanced computer technology and expert technicians. This system scans your vehicle’s existing paint to identify its exact color, including variations due to age or fading. This allows us to custom-mix paint that perfectly blends with your vehicle’s original finish for an undetectable repair.

Do you offer a warranty on your repairs?

Absolutely. We stand behind the quality of our work. Sands Collision Center offers a limited lifetime warranty on all repairs for as long as you own your vehicle. This covers the workmanship and materials used in the repair process. We’re confident in our team’s expertise and the durability of our repairs.

What if I find additional damage after I’ve picked up my car?

While we strive for perfection and have a rigorous quality control process, if you discover any issues related to the repair after picking up your vehicle, please contact us immediately. We will thoroughly inspect the vehicle and address any additional damage or concerns covered under our repair warranty. Your satisfaction is our priority.
